So earlier this week I’m in Austin, TX for a business trip. Really short visit, so I didn’t really have time to take in the city. Lucky for me, right up the street from my hotel was this super trendy new area with tons of little old houses that had been converted into cool bars and restaurants. Taking advantage of the one free night I had I made my way up to one that appeared to be sports-themed. When I arrived the place was pretty much dead. Me and one couple at the bar. Within a few minutes those two paid their tab and left, leaving just me and the bartender. She didn’t seem to be all that keen on chatting so I decided to kill a little time by surfing the web on my phone and playing Words With Friends. Little by little people started to filter in. First, the single guy who wanted a drink between shifts. Then the guy with the miniature schnauzer. Then two guys who were apparently fraternity brothers because they kept laughing and buying each other shots. Next thing I know the place is packed and OH MY GOD I’M IN A GAY BAR.
Three hours later I paid my tab and was on my way.
Oh shut up, you totally would have been fooled too. I mean come on, that dog totally looks straight.
